State of the Program ... Pigeon Forge (TN)

By this time - many of you have seen that we are doing highlights of different teams across the SE as we gear up to drop the team previews in 6 weeks. I was releasing one team a day, but with now over 170 teams having sent in information - I’ll try to ramp it up a bit so we can get as many in as possible before the first part of October. I can’t guarantee I’ll get to everyone, but I will try to get to as many as possible.

Please re-visit when the actual previews get dropped in October because what I am sharing below are just a few of the names the coaches have given me. Much more will be shared - plus SEWrestle’s “What to Expect” - in the team previews. Lastly, if you want to know whether we have your form … you can find the list of everyone that has submitted a form in the blog archive.

Pigeon Forge (Tennessee)

We begin the week with one of the perennial powers in Tennessee 1A-2A wrestling … Pigeon Forge. Coach Greg Foreman returns for another season and is ready to get his Tigers back in position for another title. The Tigers lose some hammers up top with the graduation of Mustafi Algarawi, Ethan Sutton, Joseph Skidmore, and others.

Fortunately the Tigers have plenty of hammers still in place - including a very good Senior and Junior class as well some new faces everyone need to pay attention to as 2021-2022 moves along. State Champs Garrett Foreman and Andy Cauble along with State Runners-up Caleb Wolfe and Josh Parton keep the Tigers looking for another title.

Keep an eye on Aiden Littles and Hunter Gentry to make a run for the top step in 2022 and for freshman Wyatt Howard to make some noise as well.

I am very excited for this upcoming season, coming off a 20-21 traditional state championship and a dual runner up title. Even though we graduated 6 kids this past season, our last season’s juniors and underclassman are eager and hungry to make their statement this coming 21-22 season. These guys are all mutli-sport athletes that compete in everything from football, cross-country, lacrosse, to track and field. Therefore they bring a strong completive drive to the overall team atmosphere, and we have a strong upcoming freshman class that will also make a significant impact in the strength of the team.
