Doral Academy always wrestles tough … and they have to coming from 3A Region 4. Christian Vazquez has been runner-up for 3 consecutive years (I believe … I know he has for 2 years) … this is his final shot to claim the top step. He is joined by a squad that has a ton of experience including State Qualifier Jose Gutierrez. Both Vazquez and Gutierrez have the ability to claim the top step, but the road to the title in 3A is filled with obstacles. David de Armas, Athan Toro, Gabriel Berasca, Joel Carillo, and Rocco Ruiz each have a lot of experience. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see all 7 punch their ticket to Kissimmee in 2024. Keep an eye on sophomore Mateus Sgai … who could surprise a few people this season. This team could finish top 5 if everyone wrestles to their ability. - SEWrestle
