“Officially” this is the first season for women in North Carolina, but the Mallard Creek women have been competing for years and look to make some noise in 2024. Sarem Desalegn was 4th last year with Brooke Jackson and Diya Dhananjay each qualifying for the state tournament as well. Desalegn will be hunting the top step and both Jackson and Dhananjay will look to climb onto the podium as well. The key for Mallard Creek will be the development of Lucy Dixon, Arianna Alexander, Zane Lewis, Trinity Webb, and Samia Brandon. If Mallard Creek can get 8 to the big dance and put 3 on the podium they will be in the hunt for a top 5 finish in 2024. - SEWrestle
