Davidson’s Jake Fernicola claims the 285 FR/SO title at SE Open - Sophomore Jake Fernicola swept the heavyweight freshman/sophomore bracket of the Southeast Open Sunday in wrestling's first meet of the season. The Piedmont, S.C., took the title by winning by decision 4-0 over his first opponent from VMI, then pinning his second opponent from Tiffin University. Fernicola then pinned his third opponent in the semis before winning by a 3-1 decision over Jacob Sartorio from Appalachian State.
