Daphen had a good run in 2023 - taking 15th at the 7A traditional state tournament and making the state duals playoffs. They do lose State Placer Ethan Lassere to graduation, but return a ton of wrestlers with state tournament experience. The key for this group is translating that experience into winning matches and making the podium. They’ve been to the big dance … now it is time to step up and make some noise. Micah Swiger, Ethan Curry, Owen Eiland, and Colton Rainer all won matches in Huntsville in 2023 and should be expected to make a run for a spot on the podium in 2024. Chay Long, Clayton Williams, and Toby Hymel also have that experience and will look to parlay it into a run to the podium as well. Daphne will be solid throughout the lineup with Swiger kicking things off at 106 and Rainer holding down the top of the lineup at 190. Look for returners Tommy Snell, Evan Capocci, Jacob Sweet, Nathan Hale, and Kohhen Kirkpatrick to play a role in Daphne’s success this year as well. SEWrestle
